'My work consists mainly of color photographs, although I also work in black & white. Although subject matter varies, most of my images feature simple compositions, emphasizing the relationships between light and shadow, colors and shapes, and the abstract elements of design as they appear in the everyday visual environment. To me, the images are celebrations of the simple beauty that surrounds us everywhere, and reminders to pay close enough attention that we don't miss it.'
Art Ferrier has been working as a professional fine art and commercial photographer since the early 1980's. During that time his work has appeared in galleries and group exhibitions from Boston to northern Vermont, and has won numerous awards. He is currently associated with Chimera Gallery in Nashua, New Hampshire and will be showing at Marziart International Gallery in Hamburg, Germany in February 2009. He is currently looking for new opportunities to exhibit.
A native of Lowell, MA, Art lived for much of the past 20 years in northern New Hampshire, near the Vermont border. He has travelled and photographed extensively throughout the U.S. and Canada. For the past five years he has lived in Nashua, NH with his wife and fellow artist Nancy Ferrier.
